Did you get these winter RV tips when low temperatures hit?

NEWS2023-11-10 09:43:00

As the temperature gradually decreases, winter has arrived without realizing it. During this season, special attention needs to be paid to the use and maintenance of RVs, as low temperatures not only affect vehicle performance, but may also lead to potential problems. In order to ensure that your car can be used normally in winter, we have provided the following RV tips for distinguished Amodillo owners.

When the vehicle is parked for a long time
When the temperature drops below freezing point, if the water tank or waterways contain water, the physical properties of water expansion and contraction can cause irreversible damage to the water tank and waterways. Therefore, manually emptying the vehicle's water tank and water tanks (clean water tank, gray water tank, and black water tank) is a key step to ensure that your vehicle's winter maintenance is worry free. Emptying water is not a complex task, you only need to follow the following steps:
1. Use a manual valve to open the clean water tank, gray water tank, and black water tank, and empty them.
2. After opening the manual valve of the clean water tank to empty, open the safety valve of the water heater to empty the stored water in the water heater. After emptying, close the valve. Then turn on the water pump for a few seconds and turn it off. Open all faucets, showers, and other water outlets in the car that use the clean water tank for water supply (if there is a water mixer, adjust it to the cold water outlet direction). After the water stops flowing, blow air into the water intake outside the car through the air pump until all the clean water in the pipeline is blown out from the faucet and other places. Turn all the faucets in the car that involve the water mixer to the hot water direction, continuously blow air into the water intake, and blow out all the water stored in the hot water pipe.
3. Back flush the filter element, turn it to the right and open it, then drain all the water inside the filter element.
4. Turn on the washing machine, first turn on the cleaning function, empty the remaining water in the water pipe, and then turn off the washing machine.
5. The toilet needs to press the drain button until there is no water inside the toilet.

In a low-temperature environment

1. If you are outdoors or in a campsite, you first need to keep the gray water tank in a straight draining state after moving in.

2. Simultaneously turn on the water boiler (sustainable operation) and air boiler, and turn on the insulation function of the clean water tank and black water tank, allowing the water circuit to continue operating under insulation.

3. After adding water to the clean water tank each time, rotate the filter to the right and open it. After emptying the water in the filter, blow air inward from the water inlet until the filter element is in a dry state.

Of course, when traveling at low temperatures in winter, besides using water, the vehicle's oil is also the key to ensuring driving. So friends of diesel cars, don't forget to switch to lower grade diesel, as well as adapt to low temperature oil and engine filters, to keep the car in its best condition. On the oil circuit, it is also necessary to keep the insulation function of the oil circuit in operation to avoid diesel solidification in the pipeline due to low temperatures.

Overall, although the cold winter may bring some challenges to vehicle maintenance, as long as we take appropriate preventive measures, these problems can be effectively avoided. Remember, regular inspection and maintenance of your vehicle is the key to maintaining its good operation.
