As the autumn wind blows across the land, the 19th anniversary of Amodiro's Southern Xinjiang Golden Autumn Tour has also come to an end. However, the afterglow of this trip is like a mellow wine, lingering in our hearts for a long time. During those days together, every landscape carried a different story, and we became the most vivid characters in these stories.
Warmth from the top of the snow-capped mountains
After leaving Baisha Lake, we excitedly came to the Hope Primary School in Dabudar Township, Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County. It is 1,800 kilometers away from Urumqi and less than 200 kilometers away from the Pakistani border port city of Sust. It is more than 4,000 meters above sea level. It is called "Sky Primary School" by the locals, but it carries a story about love and hope.
Walking into the campus, the first thing that caught our eyes was the innocent smiles of the children. In such a place far away from the hustle and bustle, the lives of the 235 children are simple and pure, but their thirst for knowledge is as hot as the sunshine on the plateau. They shared poems with us in their childish voices, and every word and every line of poetry made these small figures look more resilient against the backdrop of the snow-capped mountains. We also hope that our meager efforts can bring warmth to these "sky-side" children, so that they will feel less cold and more powerful on the road to pursuing their dreams.
Camping under the stars
At the end of the journey, we decided to use a starry sky camping to put a perfect end to this golden autumn trip in southern Xinjiang. As usual, everyone started the preparation work tacitly. Some partners were responsible for finding and transporting firewood, while others picked up saws and cut the thick wood into small pieces suitable for burning. The air was filled with the fresh aroma of sawdust, mixed with the smell of soil, making people feel particularly warm.
As night fell, we sat around the campfire, our laughter and conversations intertwined to form the most beautiful melody of the night. Looking up, countless stars dotted the inky sky, they were quietly watching everything, and seemed to be blessing us.
We know that when we wake up tomorrow, everyone will embark on a new journey. But as this journey has taught us, no matter the starting point or the end point, what is more important is the scenery along the way and the friends who walk side by side with us. Even if the future paths are different, we promise that one day, we will meet again.
Although this journey has ended, the warmth and strength it brought us will accompany us through every stage of our lives, allowing us to bravely face the wind and rain in our respective lives and look forward to the joy of meeting again next time. In the future, we also look forward to more like-minded friends joining us and exploring the unknown world with us!
